1. (a)

These rules may be called the Punjab Registration of Dentists, Dental Hygienist and Dental Mechanics Rules, 1948.

(b)

They shall come into force with immediate effect.

(c)

In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,-

(1)

the expression “the Act” means the Dentists Act,1948;

(2)

“the President” means the President, of the Punjab Dental Council, elected under section 25 of the act;

(3)

“the Vice-President,” means the Vice President, of the Punjab Dental Council, elected under Section 25 of the Act;

(4)

“the Executive Committee” means the Executive Committee of the Punjab Dental Council, constituted under section 29 of the Act;

(5)

“The Registrar” means the Registrar appointed under Section 28 (a) of the Act;

(6)

“the State Council” means the Punjab Dental Council’ constituted under Section 21 of the Act;

(7)

“the director, Health Services” means the Director, Health Services, Punjab.
